Manx Electric Railway Online – Volunteering Projects

Since 2012 the team behind Manx Electric Railway Online, along with members of the Laxey and Lonan Heritage Trust and individuals dedicated to supporting the M.E.R., have assisted Isle of Man Transports workshop and events teams with several projects on a variety of subjects, providing voluntary manpower towards events, restoration projects and other tasks along the line.

Members of the volunteer team have been responsible for improving the appearance of the M.E.R. including the installation of hanging baskets on shelters, litter picks and clearing overgrown trees and bushes.

Members of the team have assisted with the planning and operation of Enthusiast events on the line alongside charity fundraising events, raising money towards the above projects.
