Since 2012 the team behind Manx Electric Railway Online, along with members of the Laxey and Lonan Heritage Trust and individuals dedicated to supporting the M.E.R., have assisted Isle of Man Transports workshop and events teams with several projects on a variety of subjects, providing voluntary manpower towards events, restoration projects and other tasks along the line.
All of the rolling stock restoration projects have involved the highly skilled team at Derby Castle workshops alongside volunteer efforts.
