2013 Season Debut

Although the Manx Electric Railway has operated bus strike replacement services in January and March 2013, the first weekend of ‘official’ M.E.R. operation in 2013 was the weekend of the 9th & 10th March.

As per the last few years, Timetable A was in use with four departures from both Derby Castle and Ramsey. Four different Cars were used on theseservices over the weekend, with the following in operation.

Saturday

  • Car No. 20 – 09:40 and 12:40 from Derby Castle, 11:10 and 14:40 from Ramsey.
  • Car No.5 – 11:10 and 14:40 from Derby Castle, 12:40 and 16:10 from Ramsey

Sunday

  • Car No. 9 – 09:40 and 12:40 from Derby Castle, 11:10 and 14:40 from Ramsey.
  • Car No.6 – 11:10 and 14:40 from Derby Castle, 12:40 and 16:10 from Ramsey

Car No.6 has now had vinyls commemerating the 120th Anniversary of the Manx Electric Railway added in a similar style to Car No.20 however it is understood that these are temporary measures on both cars.

The M.E.R. will now run on selected days in March until commencing a daily service over the Easter period on Saturday 23rd. For more details, please check out the 2013 Calendar Page.
