July 2015 sees the upcoming release of a new Manx Electric Railway Book – ‘Journey on the Manx Electric Railway’ by Chris Pulling, now available to pre-order from Videoscene.
The description enclosed from Videoscene and Chris Pulling reads:
“This book takes you on ‘A Journey on the Manx Electric Railway’, the spectacular Victorian tramway still in operation from Derby Castle via Laxey to Ramsey.
This is not a textbook history, though you might find interesting some of the historic events connected with the development of the line. It is not just an armchair enthusiast’s guide either, though it can be read as such. You could also sit on board a car and read a section about the line as you pass various points of interest. You will find digressions at points of interest. It is, therefore, a bit of everything, but principally what I wanted it to be: a book about the beautiful and unique Manx Electric Railway.
I would like to think you will want to spend some quality holiday time re-discovering those simple pleasures our Victorian ancestors enjoyed when this pioneering line was newly opened. Whatever you choose to do, enjoy the unique trams, the magnificent scenery that the Isle of Man offers, and in 2015 the Manx Electric Railway’s 123rd year of continuous operation using the very latest in Victorian and Edwardian rolling stock, as you take your ‘Journey on the Manx Electric Railway.”
The 300 page A5 book will be available in late July 2015 (Just in time for the Manx Heritage Transport Festival!) priced at £16.95 and is available to pre-order from the following link – http://www.videoscene.co.uk/journey-on-the-manx-electric-railway-by-chris-pulling-book.html
