An illuminated Car, a common sight on the M.E.R since 1993, has returned to the line with the reinstatement of Car No.9s lighting in early September.
No.9’s current illuminations were fitted in 2004 (replacing those fitted in 1993) and removed as part of its 2010/2011 repaint. The Car then spent the majority of the 2011 season without illuminations until their recent refitment. The Car was used on the Ramsey evening service on Friday 9th – the ‘D’ and ‘G’ timetables being extended for an extra week to coincide with the Commonwealth Youth Games currently taking place on the Island.
It is expected that the Car will now return to it’s regular use on evening and special services, including the Pie In The Sky Events at the end of the month.
