Snaefell Mountain Railway – Flood Damage Winter 2015

A few images of the damage which the permanent way of the Snaefell Mountain Railway suffered during the flash flood on Thursday 4th December when nearly 50mm of rain fell in a few hours. These photos are taken between the car shed and the Cattle Pen; further damage has taken place further up the line.

Despite the scale of the damage and the repair work which will have to be carried out, Isle of Man Railways engineers are working on a repair plan and are confident that the line will re-open as scheduled at the start of the 2016 season.
