Winter Photography – 02/11/2013

Derby Castle Car Sheds, 190x

Car No.3, lost since April 1930, will be making a ‘return to service’ on the 2nd of November!

After the success of the 2012 Winter Photography Event, we now present the 2013 Installment!

We will be undertaking a range of activities throughout the day to celebrate 120 years in service of Cars 1 and 2.

The tour (conducted by manxelectricrailway.co.uk volunteer stewards) will include:

A morning parallel run of both Cars 1 and 2 from Derby Castle to Groudle (including photo-stops), then…

Recreation of the lost member of the 1-3 Class, Car No.3, (using Car No.2), to work a ‘Directors Special’ from Groudle to Ramsey, and then back to Laxey, featuring ‘Car No.3’ and ‘Royal Saloon’ Trailer No.59 (including numerous stops at scenic photographic locations), then…

Staged Photography and rides in Laxey station with Car No.2 and Tower Wagons Nos.1 and 12 (a very rare use as part of a passenger carrying service and most likely the last for the original-style of Tower Wagon) and then
