Derby Castle Car Shed Tours
Take part in a tour of the historic Car Sheds and Workshops at Derby Castle, the home of the Manx Electric Railway for over 120 years. Your tour, guided by Derby Castle Workshop Supervisor Steve Hall and stewards from the www.manxelectricrailway.co.uk team will include behind-the-scenes views showcasing the work carried out to maintain and operate the Victorian and Edwardian tramcars, as well as displays of artifacts and rarely-seen rolling stock.
Tours start: 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00
Meet at the M.E.R Museum 5 minutes prior to your tour starting, or ride the Wickham Shuttle from Derby Castle at 11:45, 12:45, 13:45 and 14:45.

Evening Slideshow and Talks at the Manx Museum
19:30 – 21:00
Film show and talks at the Manx Museum in the company of members of the Isle of Man Steam Railway Supporters Association and Manxelectricrailway.co.uk teams. Take a trip down memory lane and relive the history of the two Douglas to Ramsey railways with slides and film, including rarely seen footage of the lines spanning three centuries.

Saturday 4th April – A Goods Day Out
Cars 32 and 33 in Service
The Manx Electric Railway’s newest operational tramcars, Nos. 32 and 33 (built in 1906) will be in operation on the timetabled service on this day.
M.E.R Goods Trains
Historic Manx Electric Wagons and Vans will be in use on the timetabled service, including Mail Van No.4, and Open Wagons No.8 and No.10.

Laxey Car Shed Tours
Join us for a rare glimpse inside the Car Shed at Laxey. Your tour, guided by stewards from the www.manxelectricrailway.co.uk team will include behind-the-scenes views of several long withdrawn and unusual items of M.E.R. rolling stock.
Tours start: 10:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00
Meet at Laxey Station 15 minutes prior to your tour starting.

Special Timetable in Operation
Additional journeys will be ran between Derby Castle and Laxey.
The Rush to Ramsey
Car No.1 will depart Derby Castle for Ramsey at 09:30 on an ‘Rush Hour’ non-stop express journey. A selection of vintage vehicles will depart simultaneously from Derby Castle on the same journey by road. Normal ticketing fares apply for both Car No.1 and to ride as a passenger on the Leyland PD2 as it makes the journey.
Stamps on the M.E.R
A special postal service will operate between Derby Castle and Ramsey. Railway letter covers, cancelled with railway station postmarks, will be carried in Manx Electric Railway Mail Van, No.4. These very limited edition covers can be ordered in advance by phoning 01624 819289 or 01624 816302 and will be available at Laxey Station on their arrival from Ramsey. Covers are £4.75 each.
Monday 6th April – Take Your Pick
Newest Cars – Parallel Run
The Manx Electric Railway’s newest tramcars, Cars No.32 and No.33 of 1906 will run in parallel between Derby Castle and Groudle.
Run Departs Derby Castle 09.00 with photo stops en route. Car No.32 will return to Derby Castle, while Car No.33 will continue on to Laxey for use on the Motorman Taster Sessions.
Manx Electric Railway – Motorman Taster Sessions
Try your hand at driving one of the MER’s historic tramcars on one of the most scenic areas of the line between Laxey and the cliffs at Bulgham, 588 feet above the sea! Participants will take it in turn to use the tram controls on the steep climb to Bulgham and the air brakes on the descent back to Laxey.
Lessons start at Laxey: 10:15, 11:00, 11:45, 12:45, 13:40, 14:30, 15:25 and 16:25
