Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd September 2017
Experience the night sky at the summit with the Isle of Man Astronomical Society.
“With a new moon in the sky on the 20th September, the night sky should be particularly spectacular when viewed from the summit, with the Andromeda Glaazy and other features of the autumn sky clearly visible. This will include our own galaxy, the Milky Way which can be seen very clearly in our dark Manx night skies. We will show you the Andromeda Galaxy and other notable objects with the naked eye and through telescopes.”
Following supper in the Snaefell Summit Restaurant there will be a brief presentation by members of the IOMAS. Guests will then venture outside for a viewing session using telescopes provided by the society.
If cloudy, supper will be followed by an illustrated lecture, an opportunity to look at some of the Society’s telescopes and a question & answer session.
